The world's first mass-produced pure electric excavator was born
Nov 16, 2020
A "mass-production" SY16 pure electric excavator prototype successfully passed a 1,000-hour durability test in Kunshan and entered the final commissioning stage before it was put into production. This is the world's first and only "mass production" pure electric excavator, which is of great significance. Double the energy efficiency and reduce emissions to zero.
The prototype is based on a SANY 1.6-ton small excavator, with a bucket capacity of 0.04m³, a maximum digging force of 15.2kN, and a rotation speed of 10r/min. Compared with the fuel model, its internal combustion engine is replaced by a large-capacity lithium battery and a switched reluctance motor.
The device can freely switch between battery, plug-in, and external modes. "220VAC AC, 380VAC industrial AC, DC charging piles, mobile charging stations, etc., are all compatible." Wang Donglin, deputy director of Sany Heavy Machinery Electrification Research Institute Introduction. "The product's charging time is less than 2 hours, and the battery life is about 6-10 hours."
In the driving cabin, the intelligent control panel replaces the traditional human-computer interaction system, providing customers with a higher level of equipment safety and customer experience.
What's interesting is that this product can also "work while plugging in electricity" like household appliances. Wang Donglin said that it can work continuously for a long time without being affected by battery capacity.
